Recipe Cards – Picnic

I’m going to introduce a new product that’s already availabe on the site, a set of 12 Recipe Cards (in the Kitchen section), where you can write your favorite recipes and share them with your loved ones.

Since I had children, I spend much more time in the kitchen, experimenting with various recipes, from how to make their first soups to more complex dishes. Trying and getting to know a whole gastronomic world became part of our daily life. Going towards what kids like most and providing them with healthy, varied and tasty food, became a family moment. We spend time together and everyone likes to participate and help.

Over time, I felt I needed something easy to write down recipes… Notebooks or tablet never really did it for me. I needed something immediately available that was at hand, that wasn’t heavy or bulky. So I created these very practical cards, small in size (in A6). I note down a recipe per card and I always have them at hand with our favorite recipes. Whenever I need to cook a recipe I just need to reach this card, which the kids love. It is also very easy to share tham, either giving them to family or exchaing with the wider  family and friends.

Here, at home, we make lots of lemonades. I’m sharing a more complex recipe I got to know from Célio Cruz, in his Sweet Gula website. In case  you don’t know his site, I advise you to have a look… it has delicious recipes and the photos are capable of making our mouths water! I leave here the link

Strawberry Lemonade with Honey and Mint

Ingredients
4 lemons + few slices to serve & decorate
4 spoons (soup) of honey
1 liter of mineral water
4-5 organic strawberries
mint leaves
ice cube

Preparation
Squeeze the juice from the lemons into a pot.
Add the honey and bring to low heat, stirring occasionally until it starts to boil.
Turn off the heat and let it cool down.
Add 1 liter of water, place the mixture in a blender together with the strawberries and mash for a few seconds.
Strain the lemonade into a jar, add some mint leaves and refrigerate until serving time. 
Serve in glasses or jars with ice, lemon slices and mint leaves.
